How Threadify Was Born ?

We first started Threads of Ifriqiya out of a deep love for literature, reading, and writing. It began as a passion project — a way to share stories that moved us, challenged us, and reconnected us to voices and wisdom often overlooked.

But as the podcast grew, something felt missing.
We wanted more than conversation through headphones.
We imagined a physical space — one where people could gather not to perform, but simply to be.
That’s how Threadify came to life.

We first started Threads of Ifriqiya out of a deep love for literature, reading, and writing. It began as a passion project — a way to share stories that moved us, challenged us, and reconnected us to voices and wisdom often overlooked.

The Spark

Threadify emerged from a desire to bring stories and ideas into real, shared moments. We wanted a place where people could pause, slow down, and engage with creativity in a way that felt grounded and human.

The intention was simple: create an environment that supports presence and thoughtful connection, allowing individuals to explore inspiration without pressure or noise.

Who’s Behind Threadify

🧪 Ramdane holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences and works for a multilateral development finance institution, focused on projects that (quietly) reshape futures.

🔧 Hajer is a Mechanical Engineer turned business leader, now based in Abu Dhabi, helping steer a semi-private company in the energy sector.

But Threadify isn’t about our careers. It’s not even really about us.

It’s about a shared longing:

For quieter rooms. For uncurated moments.

For sitting next to someone without needing to say much — but knowing you were seen.

We built Threadify as a gentle response to the noise.

A space where you can read, create, reflect, and connect — softly and on your own terms.

Let’s be honest — Threadify is really made by the people who show up. We just created the space. You bring it to life.

But since you’re here, here’s a bit about us.

We’re Hajer and Ramdane, two souls who believe in silence, stories, and the small magic of human connection. 

We first met in October 2017 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It started with a brief, unexpected conversation — a moment of “Wait… you speak French too?” And then, as quickly as it started, it ended. 

Six months later, we reconnected in Berlin (not by chance ;-)). 

This time, we stayed in touch, and over the years, through countless books, cities, and long-distance messages, a shared vision slowly took shape.

We both love to travel. A lot.

Between the two of us, we’ve visited dozens of countries - so hey, maybe we’ve been to yours? (If not, invite us, we’ll pack light.)

We also happen to come from two different African countries, and two very different professional lives:
